pillow 09: indigo + black

The pillow collection is inspired by the work of Josef and Anni Albers, Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Luis Barragán. Focusing on the interaction of colour and scale and fusing traditional weaving techniques with modernist design principles, each design is created using a layering of squares to create a visual dialogue between colours.

The collection is woven by hand in Mexico by master weavers using the pedal loom. Our weavers use locally sourced wool which is dyed by hand, and the pillow’s reverse is made from hand-loomed cotton. Each piece takes approximately two-three days to finish.
